What Are Wisdom Teeth?

The third molars are commonly referred to as wisdom teeth.  They are usually the last teeth to develop and are located in the back of your mouth.  Most people do not have adequate room for the proper eruption of the wisdom teeth.   A common misconception is wisdom teeth that are unerupted and not causing problems do not need to be removed.  Do not be fooled avoiding extraction of these teeth can lead to serious problems and potential loss of other teeth.  It is typically best to have the wisdom teeth removed before they become a problem and before the roots become fully developed.  Call our office today to schedule the consultation appointment to discuss your wisdom teeth with Dr. Ballenger.
